Who are we?
d.cipherfm is a specialist behind the scenes colour trend business based in the Greater London area. “Our motivation and passion is that we can back up our forecasts with the swatch services, converting subjective trends into a valuable tool that can help you get the job done faster, more efficiently and with the right colour choices.”
Lead by the creative head and founder Christine Foden who has close to 30 years as an industry professional, together with her core team they adapt the d.cipherfm services to suit the changing needs of their customers.
When a book alone is not enough, there is the full bespoke service. Working from the d.cipherfm research starting points they will adapt the colour to create palettes that are a perfect fit for the customer. First by listening, then by proposing options, in most cases the final palettes and trends are the conclusion of a collaborative process.
Trend Books
Colour at the heart of everything we do.
ACTIVATE - a colourcentric ‘open brained’ genderfree book that starts the season, timed to publish when the active industry works but has relevance across industries due the broader ‘macro’ level trends covered.
MEN - a mencentric publication covering sport/casual and semi-formal menswear trends.
WOMAN - trends identified in the ‘Activate’ are modified and refined for womenswear.
All books follow the same formula...
1st Section - the WAVES clear and concise seasonal colour flow, presented in families with 4 x 18cm cotton poplin, paper backed strips to cut from and work with as a tool.
2nd Section - the PLAYS beautiful, inspiring colour broken down in ‘colour use’ and swatched with cotton poplin fabric played together for translation into patterns and collection building.

Where are we?
Our studio is on the fascinating and historical Eel Pie Island, located in the middle of the Thames at Twickenham riverside surrounded by boatyards and artists studios. The Island was once the home to a jazz club frequented by members of The Who and The Rolling Stones. Music connections continue to this day, English Indie Rock band Mystery Jets use the island as their base.
For the explorer… When you get to the river, go over the hump back pedestrian bridge and follow the path until you come to big red metal doors with the warning Private Property Keep Out. Use the small door and walk through the busy boatyard, step carefully over the cables and avoid the working men in overalls, at the other side you’ll see the artists studios, but stop at the white metal gates and you’re at Phoenix Wharf.
